This Linekin Bay Resort wedding highlights the best of Maine’s moody, misty coast. The quiet rain that fell all day and the fog rolling in off the ocean set the perfect stage for this intimate wedding. Surrounded by only a dozen of their closest family and friends, Tayler and Khaled said their vows underneath a canopy of twinkle lights, with the stormy ocean just outside the window. We were able to sneak outside during a brief break in the rain for some portraits on the dock, and when it started to pour again… this beautiful bride just laughed and the two snuggled closer. Any bride who is willing to wear a gown like this one (holy moly, scroll down and see this beauty!) on the rocky coast of Maine is a friend of mine. Congratulations to two of the kindest and most fun people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting!
This bride’s dressing robe was almost as lovely as her gown! (kidding, how could it be?) I always encourage my brides to pick out something pretty to wear while getting ready. It elevates the images from the morning and makes you feel like a million bucks.
This rockstar bouquet had black feature accents among the florals and greenery. This subtle detail brought just the right amount of attitude. Amazing work by Campbell’s Floral Design.
I had a few minutes to grab some portraits of the groom while we waiting for the ceremony to begin. That smile!
Right before the ceremony, Grandma came up to me and whispered that she had a photo request. She planned to give the groom, her future grandson-in-law, a kiss on the cheek as she walked him down the aisle. “He doesn’t know it’s coming!” she told me. As they parted ways at the end of aisle, she leaned over and this sweet moment happened. These are the things I love capturing for my couples. These moments might be one or two clicks on a camera for me, but the photo will last a lifetime for this family.
Because of the rain, the ceremony was held in doors under a sea of twinkle lights. I think we can agree that as far as “back up” plans go, this was just as amazing as the original. It was so romantic!
Did you even get married in Maine if you brave some sort of weather disaster for a photo?!
Aside from their smiles and the pure joy radiating from this couple, my favorite part of this photo is seeing the new bling on his hand!
My love for the unposed, candid, and in-between moments knows no bound.
