Fort Rock Farm Wedding

I met Rachel and Dennis in college (go huskies!) and one of my favorite things about being a photographer is getting to reconnect with familiar faces and spend time with old friends. The honor is never lost on me that I get to be a part of such a special day.

Everything about this day went flawlessly. The light was perfect from start to finish (how does that even happen?) and everywhere I looked, there were smiling faces and so much love to go around. With five adorable flower girls running around in matching dresses, I loved every second. Rachel dreamed of the perfect rustic, fall wedding and her vision truly came to life. The girls carried cheerful bouquets of bright sunflowers, Dennis sported a dapper bow tie, and Rachel wore cowboy boots under her gown. Their beloved hound dog, Augie, even made an appearance at the reception. His bandana read “Official Wedding Crasher” and if all wedding crashers are that cute, the position is definitely his!

Sunflowers were everywhere! They are such a cheerful, bright and happy flower. I loved seeing the pops of yellow and it made me smile every time.

Getting a close up of the dress is so important! The details make the gown. Even the lace had a floral vibe to match this happy day.

Rachel did a first look with her girls! They gathered in the living room, waiting for the big reveal. I loved their faces as their bride came around the corner in her gown.

Those buttons went all the way down to the bottom! I absolutely had to get a shot of the train fanned out for the full effect.

This was such a clever way to share the itinerary for the day! There were so many DIY and crafty touches around the reception. These two clearly put so much work into bringing the day together.

Dennis read his note from Rachel on the porch. Wearing his sharp suit, and with the classic columns in the the background, this image has a timeless feel.

Fun fact: No one ever knows how to put a boutonnière on! This is one skill I have mastered and at every wedding, I end up putting them all on for people! But I have to let you struggle for a few minutes to first to get the shot 😉

Can I tell you a funny story? This photo was taken 10 seconds before my assistant, Katherine, fell into a bramble bush and spent the rest of the day pulling burrs off her pants! The next frame is everyones face looking shocked! It was worth it to get the shot! I love this sweet photo of the couple.

While the bride is walking down the aisle, don’t forget to steal a peek at the groom (and make sure you have tissues).

Rachel’s brother officiated the ceremony. I love it when couples ask a friend or family member to preform the service. It adds a personal touch!

What did I tell you about the world’s cutest wedding crasher? He can officially come to any wedding he wants!
